Unlike the Russian jets from earlier in the year (who, while being provocative, violated no international law), these boats DID, in fact, violate Maritime law with their maneuvers, and the Nitze was well within her rights to defend herself. Kudos to the Captain for keeping his (or her) head, but man...with provocation like that, I think I, as an armchair admiral, would have launched on their asses.
