Iraqi military: Islamic State spokesman wounded in airstrike

The Islamic State's top spokesman was wounded in an airstrike in Anbar province, Iraq's Joint Operations Command said in a statement Thursday.

"There are confirmed reports that the so-called terrorist Abu Muhammad al-Adnani, the spokesman of the Daesh terrorists, was wounded in an air strike," the statement said, according to Reuters and other media. Daesh is another term for Islamic State. Details of the injury were not released.
