I would say yes, definitely. It’s possible, in my experience, to deeply offend someone through gestures & mannerisms that are entirely innocent in my culture.

Yes primarily because you can impress with culture knowledge much faster than you can impress with ability to speak their language.

And avoid unknowing faux pas such as showing the sole of your shoe to your hosts in Thailand (crossing your legs) or offering anything with your left hand almost ANYWHERE... or putting a japanese businessmans business card in your wallet & then slipping it into your hip pocket...
