Sgt Wayne Wood - Some people might finally get their 'make art' button, but...one issue I have with the digital art community is that there are those people who will buy a character asset, then buy a few props and then they will put it all together and call it their art, which...irks me, it is like a student writing a paper and omitting the credits at the end.

And don't get me wrong, there is a time and a place for things such as photogramery but...it irks me because those whom I know that use that software consider it the same as spending thousands of hours to learn the skill to produce a likeness by hand.

Sgt Wayne Wood - I detest that type of art, but I tend to refer to it by what it actually is, and that is money laundering.

But something to keep in mind is that when it comes to music there are formulas that have been known about for years that produce sounds that people find attractive. In the written world there are plot wheels that produce stories that people tend to be just engaged with to sit through (although the predictability of them is starting to become problematic in that regard), hell any art student can sit down and study the basics of color theory and they can just toss paint on a canvas and it will evoke emotions if done correctly. All of that is just mechanics and on par with anything that was taught to kids taking industrial arts in highschool.

And while I know that I suck when it comes to working on behavioral trees for game AI's, I suspect that anything that can be done by potheads with a flowchart could also be done by an AI.
