I know this is almost counter-intuitive; the amount of noise pollution that would be reduced if electric vehicles became the nor would be staggering. BUT - I have actually seen (as a passenger) some dolt walk right in front of a Tesla without even looking up and was mighty surprised to see us stopped.

Mine already makes noise! Its on the steering wheel. Any idiot that walks in front of my car gets a horn- and a WTF look. When you walk in front of a car when the light on the other side of the road has a don't walk then you deserve to be a Darwin Award Candidate! When I drive a hybrid or electric car I like the nice quite absence of sound, I drive my AMG GTS, then I want to be heard.
