Thanks Maj Marty Hogan for letting us know that November 19 is the anniversary of the birth of 20th President of the United States, serving from March 4, 1881, until his assassination later that year, James Abram Garfield.
Thanks for mentioning me, my friend SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL

Alexander Graham Bell attempted to locate the bullet with the first metal-detector. The attempt failed because the detector was confused by the metal bed springs.
According to one author on the life and death of Garfield 'Twelve different doctors inserted unsterilized fingers and instruments in Garfield's back probing for this bullet.'
