Maybe ask HRC. Because she was not tried, many worried we would not be able to charge people for miss use of classified info. I will remind you on this, that when communicating with a foreigner...you are not transmitting classified. (They do not have a clearance...and what they say to you is not classified US data, since they do not have a clearance.) (BUT, the analysis of that conversation and thoughts about it can be classified.) The resistance has destroyed any secrets or foreign policy of this administration. Remember the first week the transcripts of first calls to different leaders were leaked?

It all depends on whether classified information was transmitted or not.
Official business is done via cell phone all the time. The government issues them. Hell, I have one.
As did President Obama, and while I haven't seen it, most likely President Trump has one too.
The White House Counsel *should have* published guidance and acceptable use policies for any issued or not issued government phones for White House employees.
I do know there was a stink about recorded conversations with Omarosa Manigault, and that as a result former Chief of Staff John Kelley banned Cell phone use in the White House campus. Not sure if those rules are still in place now.

Having said all that, for whatever reason the media has red-ass with Jared Kushner, and Executive Branch officials in general. This story smacks of more gotcha games.

1SG (Join to see) And that may be all well and good, but this is the about doing government business over a cell phone. It's about doing government business over an app that is encrypted FROM the government. Government work is public work and is, by law, reviewable to the public in most cases. My work email, your work email, is all part of a public record and available for FOIA requests. If you're doing government business from your Gmail, you're wrong and in violation of a lot of things.

LCpl Kt M And you'll never see that classified info in this case because of how Whatsapp is specifically encrypted to NOT allow anyone else to see what's going on. No accountability at all here - and THAT'S the problem.

MAJ Bryan Zeski - I have little doubt in the NSA's capacity to get into an iPhone, if necessary. But I agree, this isn't how business is supposed to be done.
