Johnson & Johnson Vaccine Is 66% Effective In Preventing Moderate To Severe COVID-19

A global study of nearly 44,000 found that the COVID-19 vaccine made by Johnson & Johnson is 66% effective in preventing moderate to severe disease.
The study was conducted in the U.S., Latin America and South Africa. The vaccine did better at preventing disease in this country – 72% — and less well in South Africa – 57% efficacy. The efficacy seen in Latin America was 66%.
The South African results are troubling because the coronavirus spreading there and that has now been detected in the U.S., raising concerns that the vaccines developed so far might not work as well against it.
The vaccine did demonstrate complete protection against COVID-19 serious enough to require hospitalization, according to a news release from the company. The vaccine was 85% effective in preventing severe forms of the disease.
The company says it plans to apply to the Food and Drug Administration for emergency use authorization to distribute the vaccine.

"No vaccination at all" means over 80% of those known infected do not acquire moderate to severe symptoms.
Over 50 years ago, when coronaviruses were first observed and discovered to be one of the major causes of "the common cold" the medical community, high on its successes from other vaccines, decided to try out making a vaccine against coronaviruses. The result was "Vaccine leads to Increased Pulmonary Immunopathology on Challenge." This basically means, that if you receive a vaccine for a coronavirus it is more likely for you to develop "killer pneumonia" when you are infected after the vaccine. This problem, and a similar issue with the attempted development of a vaccine for RSV ("the sniffles") which killed more volunteered babies, is the very reason we adopted extended testing with animal models. The result of EVERY coronavirus vaccine attempted since has been the same for over 50 years, at least until we gave immunity from responsibility to the drug companies to produce the latest vaccines. Which, of course, we are being told have been extensively tested for safety, when they obviously haven't been.
