Lt. Col Scheller knew what He was doing and was willing to accept the consequences of his action... That aside, He did stand his ground to ask the pertinent questions of his senior officers, but it was his choice of Venues that irked the Senior officers above him... The reality is that even in the military POLITICS has a way of disturbing the issues and people within the issues... Most likely He will be asked to resign his commission if not discharged outright... I don't think we have heard the last of Lt. Col. Scheller... Public Service next on his list? Congress, Senate...?

I also understand the Judge was not amused by the government lawyers screwing around with Scheller.

Part of the plea deal was his resignation. The SECNAV has the final say on whether it is an Honorable or General under Honorable Conditions.
If you haven't read the entire article, the Judge wasn't happy about a number of issues.
And as Scheller stated, the Marine Corp didn't accuse him of making false statements.

If he get a general discharge under honorable conditions he's getting lucky sir MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D.

I guess he got that because the judge was not amused by several acts of the prosecution team. LTC Scheller’s medical information was released illegally to the press. Scheller was put in the brig , and the judge had sympathy for Scheller’s position.

LTC David Brown - I wonder if that judge will have any repercussions brought upon him for not throwing the book at the Colonel harder than he did.
