It looks to me that there is a lot of training going on now. I am one of those older AF types and we didn't have training days and shut down operations for it. My answer is no answer because I just don't know. I understand that there is a lot of social training . That gets to the social enginner so that just means the AF is completeing people's education.

Great Post! I love what CSAF & the CMSAF are doing to combat retention these days. I hope that CSAF tackles the overlying issue of toxic management (Leadership). From everything I'm hearing/reading, that is the main cause for many to leave the Force. When you have Commanders straight up telling pilots that if he catches them talking to airlines he will purposely submarine their career, there is more of an issue than too much CBT requirements.

Interesting post. The tactical career path is interesting and conversely the AF GO has an issue with growing leaders and just how to go about doing that. I think the last part of the clip showed us something also. Online training and for the Army all the mandatory training. There are simply not enough training days to complete all the required tasks and yet our GOs have known this for years. Another issue on Command. Back in the day a Commander could train his or her unit. Now, its all directed training. So you have an older military looking at the problem with one perspective and the younger military looking at the issue from their perspective. I can see why folks leave or stay. My Grandfather is a WWII Pacific Veteran. He has a little book of about 10 pages. Its called ChickenShit. I asked him about it. He said one reason in his opinion they did well was they didn't have all the Chickenshit that we have in the military today. They just focused on one thing. Good post.
