This story is from 2013. It took them 4 years. However, who knows how long it will take to carry out the sentence.

SMSgt Thor Merich - It is currently under appeal. Estimates are 10 to 15 years for it to clear all the appeal hurdles. Very similar to civilian death row appeals.

SSgt GG-15 RET Jim Lint - Jim, I would prefer he was put out of our misery years ago, but the US legal appeals system moves slower than the glaciers melt. I am convinced everyone knows for sure he is guilty as sin. I was hoping they would get on with his execution. Doesn't matter to me hang or lethal inject him.
