It is so good you share what is happening there. Never see it in the US new. But, also it is educational to see what could happen to us.

Canada is a great test bed for liberal ideas. Just like in the USA, the coastal states or provinces are Democrat/Liberal and the interior is Conservative or Republican. 2 of the 3 provinces are oil producers. If they can't get pipelines to sell their product, then they won't go along with the Carbon Taxes.

The Green Party in British Columbia stopped a pipeline that the Federal Government promised to underwrite. The Federal Government won't fight the lower court ruling so Alberta's Premier/Governor said no to Carbon taxes. If it can't generate money for to pay for the tax, it opted out. I am the RP Canary here in Canada. Some won't like my message.

When has big oil involved themselves in anything that, in the end, wasn't good for them?

According to a German study, China, India, Japan and the Philippines are among the biggest investors in 1,380 coal projects around the world, many in Asia. If they don’t want to choke on coal dust themselves, they’re happy to help others do it.
