Keystone pipeline won't use US steel despite Trump pledge

He knew damn well they weren't going to have to use US steel, and just lied about it to make himself look better. This shouldn't be a surprise, as he has done that constantly. And LOL at those suggesting he didn't know the pipe had been purchased. Please. His area of expertise is large, years long construction projects and complex contracts. Plus, do you think he signed those executive orders without knowing what was in them? Come on. He just knows that millions of Americans heard him say "US steel on those pipelines! " but much fewer will ever hear the truth. The headline lie always outlasts the backpage retraction.

You can bet that a year or two from now, if you poll people, particularly those that get their news from right wing internet sites, that a majority of them will say that the pipeline was built with US steel.

The same people who believes he meant something else are the same people who get scammed out of their life savings or enrolled into Trump U.

I would venture to guess that he didn't know the materials were already purchased and acquired.
