You had to be mighty desperate to drink water when I was a kid, unless it came from a hose. (Drinking anything from a hose was great fun in those days) And yes, we drank plenty of soda pop. I suppose it's an improvement to see fewer kids drinking soda pop these days, although I think they should try drinking more water from a hose. It's a helluva lot cheaper than the bottled stuff and, according to studies I've seen, it's better than most bottled water (purity and all that). Now, if kids could drink beer, that would be even better, or water and wine. Now there's a great drink when you're working in the sun on a hot day. You sweat away all the water and are left with the alcohol...
