I agree with the conviction. We can't have a 26 year old police veteran mistaking her service weapon for a taser. The shooting itself probably would've been justified but what she did was incompetent.

SPC (Join to see) I agree it was incompetent just not criminally negligent.... no malice or reckless disregard, no mens rea ... just a pure mistake... Civilly culpable on the other hand yes. The expert testified to how "muscle memory" in stressful events can override training as it defaults to an earlier state.

PO1 (Join to see) that's why she was found guilty of manslaughter and not murder. Our actions have consequences and a traffic stop with someone that you knew was unarmed doesn't count as stressful to me. But that's my opinion.
