KRALEV: NATO hotels greet America’s military

Apparently US military members are welcome to stay in the military lodging facilities of many NATO countries. This could mean cheaper lodging for members vacationing in Europe - $50/night in Barcelona and $56/night in Copenhagen sounds unbeatable. The article is a little dated, and I haven't had much luck in my research, so has anyone tried this?
