People keep making a big deal about the number of firearms he had. He can only fire one at a time (unless there was more than one shooter). Now over the course of the 72 minutes he had to create mayhem and near constant firing the guns would get hot, So having a couple to swap out would be advantageous. But really if he had 3 guns or 30 it doesn't make any difference.

Dang, he definitely was set up for causing destruction, and taking out a large number of people.
