I remember when the Jimmy Dean Show was cancelled at the height of its popularly many decades ago. Their was a mass outpouring of support to revive it, but the network couldn't find advertisers who wanted to be associated with anything as"low brow" as country music. That's not the issue here, is it? This is ideology trumping profits which only goes to demonstrate how much broadcasters fear the Left. That says a lot about the Left, doesn't it?

Nat King Cole suffered the same outcome as Jimmy Dean. I don't know how much this has to do with politics vs advertiser dollars (or how the two may be matrixed).

I think boiling things down to left vs right may be an oversimplification. My aunt was a rabid fan of C&W music and was a Democrat. My mom was a staunch conservative and yet they got along quite well. Never heard a single argument.

Americanism allows everyone to hold their beliefs without persecution. My family and friends hold a variety of beliefs but we are still family. We support each other and will only fight for the chance to be first to put our feet in the @$$ of someone who harms our family.

Were it that we as a country could do the same.

Capt Dwayne Conyers - I did not say that the cancellation of the JDShow was politically or ideologically motivated
I was very specific that it was an economic issue. I then contrasted that with the ideological motivation that led to the cancellation of Allen's show
Need I explain further?

Not a TV watcher but have seen some clips of the show. Funny as hell. I do hope CMT can make a good deal for all in negotiations.
