My wifes Dad was in the 101st Abn Glider Infantry (we originally thought other was the 82nd) at Normandy, Market Garden and the Bulge. I can't begin to fathom what it was like being towed into combat in plywood and canvas Glider - not once but twice. He passed away long before we were married and I was able to reconstruct some of his campaign experiences. She has his purple heart and his SGT stripes. Men like him - who went into danger willingly - are what this website honors
