Well, let's look at H.R.299 - Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act of 2017.

06/25/2018-6:54pm House On motion to suspend the rules and pass the bill, as amended Agreed to by the Yeas and Nays: (2/3 required): 382 - 0

06/26/2018 Senate Received in the Senate.

06/28/2018 Senate Read twice and referred to the Committee on Veterans' Affairs.

08/01/2018 Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs. Hearings held.

And that's as far as it got. For the record, the Bill passed in the House unanimously, which included all the Democrats in the House, including Rep. Nancy Pelosi.

On 08/01/2018, Sec'y of Veteran's Affairs Robert Wilkie, a Pres. Trump appointee, testified before the Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs AGAINST this Bill. He claimed that the cost of the Legislation would be too expensive, even though the projected cost would represent less than 0.01 of 1% of the Dept.'s budget! (For the record, previous SecDef supported this Bill.)

Subsequent to the Secretary's comments, the Committee Chairman, Sen. Johnny Isakson (R - GA), tabled the Bill, not allowing it to go to the Senate floor for a Vote. That's where it died, at least for Congress' last term.

On this issue, you've mis-identified your "enemies". ALL the Democrats in the House voted in favor of it. The Secretary of Veteran's Affairs, a Pres. Trump appointee, opposed it. The Committee Chairman, a Republican, tabled it.

Now, who's responsible for it not passing?

They will now pass it not because of the Vets, but for the funds from the budget to be used for Mortgages. They want to take over the Mortgage Market.

"The bill revises the VA's home loan guaranty program to adjust loan fee rates and eliminate the limit on guaranty amount that is based on the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac) conforming loan limit.
The VA shall permit a VA-approved appraiser to make a housing loan appraisal based solely on information gathered by a person with whom the appraiser has entered into an agreement for such services."

PO2 Rev. Frederick C. Mullis, AFI, CFM - UPDATE
“Tuesday, April 2, 2019
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Oregon’s U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley(D-OR) today responded to reports that U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Secretary Robert Wilkie told members of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee on Tuesday that he will recommend the U.S. Department of Justice not fight a January court ruling that ordered the VA to provide health care and benefits to veterans who served on Navy or Coast Guard ships during the Vietnam War.“

https://www.merkley.senate.gov/news/press-releases/merkley-praises-va-decision-to-finally-allow-blue-water-navy-veterans-harmed-by-agent-orange-to-access-va-health-care

The article goes on to say that Sen. Merkley(D-OR) is introducing legislation to include Veterans who served in the Korean DMZ. It seems that foul witch’s brew was used in a lot of places other than Viet Nam.

Say, PO2 Rev. Frederick C. Mullins, AFI, CFM, since you feel so strongly about it, why don’t you run for office. You’re bound to do a better job than any of the crew that’s there now.

Of course, there is one thing you’ll have to learn to put up with. That’s people like us who don’t know the first thing about the job, calling you a bloodsucking vermin.

Agent "O" certainly left it's mark. I wonder how the Vietnamese are doing with it today...... So far, so good with me. I was entered into the "AO" registry around 35 years ago and so far have "dodged a bullet".
