I found this article on servant leadership and thought it was worth reposting. I would like to hear about your experiences with servant leaders. What made them great and worth emulating? What did they do to demonstrate servant leadership. I'm a new squad leader and I'm looking to institute Servant Leadership in my squad, both through my actions and the actions of my team leaders. When I was a PFC, my team leader led from the front. He told me that he would never make us do something that he wouldn't do himself. More than once I saw him push back because the welfare of the soldiers was not being considered. My team leader looking out for our needs as if they were his own was instrumental in my development as a leader.
