I would be more concerned if it were leaking fuel or waste products into the environment or in the berthing areas. Most Navies of the world have an occasional leak problem, part of doing business in a corrosive environment. From what I read this was found in the shakedown before handover, someones getting Overtime :)

Possible dumb question of the day but here goes... How does one locate a leak on a behemoth like that? I can see divers finding a gash or tear in the hull but how about a pencil sized hole or crack in a weld.

In this case, it was on the shaft seal - a very well-known risk which is watched constantly by all ships' engineering crews. The shaft must by definition penetrate the hull, and so there must be a mechanism to keep the water out (the seal) there. This is a fairly common failure, and as failures go, not at all catastrophic.
