Sad story. Seems like a pretty normal ruck. 6 miles at a slow pace. PT stud... Makes you realize it can happen to any of your Soldiers at any time, regardless of the overall strain.

I do have to say, safety was always important to every physical exercise we did, always safety first, corpsman, safety vehicle etc... The thing though that sort of undermined it to a degree((Not completely)) was that at I always felt that no matter how one felt, they needed to carry on and never drop out or it looked like weakness. I never had a problem, not because I was particularly physical but because I was good at blanking out and just keep going but the push stay the course I think could keep people from expressing how they were feeling physically.
