Awesome article.
The army doesnt want Soldiers to be bigger, stronger, faster. Which in todays army you need to be, in my opinion.
I always wondered why units do not have staggered PT times. Some in the morning and some in the afternoon around 1500. To be anything dealing with weights is better in the afternoon once your body is warmed up. I cant stand lifting at 0630. I can deal with cardio that early but in order to get in good lifting sessions you need your body full of carbs to burn.
I think the military should invest in permanent coaches who are not green suiters. It takes alot of time and energy to come up with work out plans to attack certain goals.
Equipment? Yeah its not enough. Hell you barely have enough to do the PRT stuff.
PRT? People think its the end all be all. When all PRT is just a bunch of different programs thrown together all in one. And you cant even accomplish it in the hour for PT.
I agree with this article 100%

Instead of permanent coaches, why not train more MFT's or debunk health/fitness myths throughout NCOES?

Although similar, I am enjoying a crossfit program that adapts to the ability of each participant. I'm all for training for life while avoiding repetitive boring exercise.

I don't own a car; so I walk and take the bus- wherever I go.
Whenever I walk: I walk as fast as I possibly can. I have also taught swimming; such that I love to swim- and I swam at Letterman Army pool- for about a year....thus my broad back and shoulders.
I carry heavy articles; despite a bad back- and therefore I have large biceps.
I try not to run too often; as I am a balance and a fall risk- at 65 years of age.
-With my very best regards to you, Lieutenant,
