As a kid working for a ranch foreman I got a very accurate job description
1) You will do what ever I tell you to do.
_Without getting killed or seriously injured
_Without breaking anything
_Without letting any animal loose that I do not want loose
_Without complaining, whining or giving signs of a crappy attitude
2) Specific duties will consist of the following
_Things that do not require any significant experience or intelligence
_Things that are so unpleasant that I and any more experienced hands do not want to do
_Things that do not need to be done, but it is funny to watch you do
3) When you can do all of the above to my satisfaction
_ I will no longer refer to you as "dumbass"
_ Let you take breaks with the grown ups, as long as you keep your mouth shut.
_ Give you harder jobs that require a little bit of experience or intelligence
_ Consider giving you a raise, but I will eventually say "NO".
4) If you do not piss me off too much, I might hire you again next summer.

I have found that job descriptions are not wrote by supervisors, but by recruiters. Especially for entry level jobs. They make it seem like it is a management job, but it is high turnover position that does nothing to finding a career. You really have to read between the lines to see what the job really is.

In the past I personally have gone to a current employee of the company in question for insight on what the actual job entails. Someone who works there already is the place to get solid answers
