This is a much needed program, I have found that there is very few companies that allow medics to work just based on military training. Other companies to include a lot of EMS ones want you to jump thru hoops or start all over.

S. 453/H.R. 1818, Veterans EMT Support Act – This bill, which has already garnered wide support in both the House and the Senate, streamlines the process for veterans and separating military medics to meet state EMS certification and licensure requirements for civilian EMS employment. Last year, NAEMT undertook a highly successful grassroots campaign to build support. Hundreds of NAEMT members emailed their Representatives and Senators, and more than a dozen new co-sponsors signed on. The goal is to continue the momentum this year!
