Thank you my friend SGT (Join to see) for posting the music video of Lynyrd Skynyrd performing "Sweet Home Alabama" (1974) in honor of drummer Bob Burns who died on April 3, 2015, in a car crash in Georgia when his car struck a mailbox and a tree with the front of the vehicle.
I saw Lynyrd Skynyrd perform in Evansville, Indiana while I was stationed at Fort Campbell as a 12B combat engineer.in 1975.
Sweet Home Alabama written by Ronnie Van Zant, Gary Robert Rossington, Edward C. King
Lyrics
"Big wheels keep on turning
Carry me home to see my kin
Singing songs about the south-land
I miss 'ole' 'bamy once again and I think it's a sin
Well I heard Mister Young sing about her
Well I heard ole Neil put her down
Well, I hope Neil Young will remember
A southern man don't need him around anyhow
Sweet home Alabama
Where the skies are so blue
Sweet home Alabama
Lord, I'm coming home to you
In Birmingham they love the Gov'nor, boo-hoo-hoo
Now we all did what we could do
Now Watergate does not bother me
Does your conscience bother you, tell the truth
Sweet home Alabama
Where the skies are so blue
Sweet home Alabama
Lord, I'm coming home to you, here I come
Now Muscle Shoals has got the Swampers
And they've been known to pick a song or two (yes they do)
Lord they get me off so much
They pick me up when I'm feeling blue, now how bout you?
Sweet home Alabama
Where the skies are so blue
Sweet home Alabama
Lord, I'm coming home to you
Sweet home Alabama, oh sweet home
Where the skies are so blue and the governor's true
Sweet home Alabama
Lord, I'm coming home to you."

We loved them in Ohio when I was growing up. LTC Stephen C. went to school with several of the original band members, and his sister knew many of them personally! SPC Woody Bullard

SGT (Join to see) - I remember LTC Curlee telling me he lived in Jacksonville and went to school there with some of the guys. I like "SIMPLE MAN" and the
long 14:10 version of "FREE BIRD", "THAT SMELL", "SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL", "THE BALLAD OF CURTIS LOWE" but my favorite song is the 7:32 "TUESDAY'S GONE".
