"On April 3, 2015, Bob Burns, the American drummer who was in the original line-up of the Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd died in a car crash in Georgia when his car struck a mailbox and a tree with the front of the vehicle. Burns was the only occupant of the car and was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. He appeared on the band's 'Sweet Home Alabama,' 'Gimme Three Steps' and 'Free Bird.'" He is playing drums on this video of the original Sweet Home Alabama.

I saw Lynyrd Skynyrd perform in Evansville, Indiana while I was stationed at Fort Campbell as a 12B combat engineer.in 1975.

SGT (Join to see) - I remember LTC Curlee telling me he lived in Jacksonville and went to school there with some of the guys. I like "SIMPLE MAN" and the
long 14:10 version of "FREE BIRD", "THAT SMELL", "SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL", "THE BALLAD OF CURTIS LOWE" but my favorite song is the 7:32 "TUESDAY'S GONE".
