Albright's appeasement strategy didn't work with North Korea (she says in the article force is not possible with North Korea.........ehhh really?) or Iran and her acceptance of Yeltsin's turn away from Democracy left us with the dictator Putin. Her inaction on Saddam Hussien, triggered the second Gulf War and her inability to spot Al Queda as a real threat led to 9-11. I see this book as her attempt at CYA and attempting to explain her past politicies as measured and rational when in fact they were nothing more than a kick the can down the road strategy of appeasing the rising dangers and inadequately reacting to the immediate issues. How long did the Kosovo deployments last?
