SPC Tim K - Out of curiosity only, on a long road trip, how long to fully charge your Tesla if you're at about 25% charge?

PO1 Jeff Chandler - 1. The generator runs on gasoline. 2. I don't live in California. 3. Even if I did live in California I wouldn't care about them outlawing small gas engines. I'd run it more just for spite if anything.

Maj John Bell - Tesla Superchargers taper the charge rate down as the battery fills up. They charge at max rate until the battery gets up to 40%-45%, then it begins to taper down. To go from 25% to 90% would take about 30-40 minutes, but it would take 50-60 minutes to go from 25% to 100%. If you're trying to go fast with minimal down time for charging, you're better off planning your charging stops to run the battery from 10% to 80%, rather than 25% to 90% or 100%. I've never had a problem with spending 30 minutes or so at a supercharger. Find a bathroom, get some food, take a 15 minute nap in the car, etc.

I think Hybrids have some advantages.

LTC David Brown, they surely do have advantages Sir. For instance, regular use charges the rear battery that runs the vehicle in cruise and it runs the system reducing fuel consumption, and emissions.

I started with a Civic hybrid in 2004.Traded it for a Prius C in 2010. We got rear-ended in 2015 and it was totaled. Got a full-size Prius to replace it and just paid off the interest-free lloan.
