It isn't a matter of race, but ideology. The left can overlook one, black or white if they are on the RIGHT side of the equation. Bill Cosby was a philander, that many women used for their own purpose to gain cash or fame, IMO. But he was way too honest in his positions of the bad traits of SOME black issues. Woody is a scum, that can be overlooked because he is one of them.

But couldn't that be said for the right also? Carson took shots at Obama saying he wasn't "black" enough. According to the slave codes, Obama is just as black as I am. So his living a better life as a kid compared to Carson means nothing. Cosby did some wrong, but I'm still questioning it being a few of the women who came forward were factually proven wrong. Polanski is still making movies. How in the hell is a ChoMo still making movies, and winning major awards after being convicted and sentenced while he lives good in Europe?

Good Point. I think most people are aware of what both Men are accused of but Society does seem to have gone much milder on Woody Allen.

But what's the "fix"? Do we overlook them based off their dollar value, their self importance to the nation, the color/economic status/religion of the victim or do we finally recognize that in the "free world" much like in the military, there is a double standard. J(anything), will be beaten down and dismissed, field to flag and SGM/MC/CMSgt's are safe from UCMJ? I know a few have been knocked down to dispel that thought, but by and large it holds true. You could even in society break it down further. When do the laws apply equally to everyone?

SSG Warren Swan Whether or not the allegations are true right now the press has taken on the stance of personally attacking him. Instead of investigative and objective reporting we see sensationalist headlines as each tries to beat the other to the punch. Sometimes we need to find the source of what started the media frenzy. Bill Cosby had/has enemies because he spoke out against the trend on issues concerning the black community, politics, and law. Hannibal Buress is the one who is responsible for pushing Cosby's story into the headlines. Buress ridiculed Cosby in his act saying, “Bill Cosby has the f*ckin smuggest, old black man public persona that I hate….’Pull your pants up black people. I was on TV in the 80s. I can talk down to you cause I had a successful sitcom….I don’t curse on stage.’ Well yah, you’re a rapist so…….” Buress went on to urge his audience to google the Cosby rape accusations.
Alex Jones on the other hand gave Cosby a fair shake when he said, “Everything in this country is about power….Bill Cosby is being politically assassinated right now. And he may be guilty….It’s the fact that the media is jumping on this and piling on him….When they want to cover up for somebody, they cover up….And Bill Cosby has criticized gang thug culture… He’s come out and criticized Obama….And so he’s not with the program folks. So bye-bye Bill." This may be by far the most honest thing that has been said thus far about why Bill Cosby is taking a pounding in the media. The media is no different than a mass mob and whatever the mood that is detected by them to be the mood of the (community) will be reflected in their reporting, investigative reporting be da**ed, when there is blood in the water there will be a feeding frenzy.

Excellent comment ma'am. I'm on the fence with this. Whenever I see or hear Gloria Alread is taking a case, what little hair I have stands on end. All of her press conferences are the same with her being the "big sister" to some woman who was done wrong. I won't say ALL of her cases are fake, but I cannot understand how she can get folks to cry damn near on command at her press conferences. A few of the women she "swore" were victims have been found out to be opportunistic liars. In one video Janice Dickinson is talking about how she couldn't get Bill, wrote about it, and years later she's being prompted on air to talk about her rape? This whole thing disgusts me. I feel for anyone who is raped. It's not right by any stretch. But to use a bad situation to get your name back out into the masses is wrong. At the same time while Cosby's being drug through the mud, you have a man who raped a child in the 70's, who fled the states to get away from doing time, and he is STILL making movies? Cosby has had damn near all of his honorary degrees stripped, they were talking about taking his Medal of Freedom away. All this to one man, who is essentially blackballed, while two other men who are chomos (child molesters), are allowed to continue their careers (one looking at a lengthy prison bid), and then there's Woody.
This is the perfect time to throw the race card. It is clear in this case, that people in the industry feel what Polanski, Allen, and another did, were wrong, but they can overlook this due to the money they bring in. Their complexion also doesn't hurt them. Two of them are Jewish. No one talks bad about a Jew or you'll be blasted past Mars for being an anti-Semite. But is this what America has come down to? If you're rich and famous, we can forgive you for your sins, but if you're middle class on down, and don't have to pennies to rub together, we should throw the book at you. Bruce Jenner kills someone in an accident. Doesn't get arrested. You, me or anyone else on RP does the same thing in the same conditions (he was found to be at fault), we'd be paying out of our noses to get a lesser sentence. But we WILL be in prison.

SSG Warren Swan What Allen did was disgusting. Partly I blame his ex for not doing more for protection of their daughter. She knew what was going on in her own home. The whole thing stinks of manipulation. I wonder what his ex got out of keeping her silence. Dylan Farrow, said the assault took place in the attic of her home. “He told me to lay on my stomach and play with my brother’s electric train set,” she said. “Then he sexually assaulted me. He talked to me while he did it, whispering that I was a good girl, that this was our secret, promising that we’d go to Paris and I’d be a star in his movies.” That Polanski coerced 13 year old Samantha Geimer into a topless photo shoot at her home and later drugged and raped her is not ok. That she was unable to receive justice without filing a civil suit is not ok. These things should not be swept to the side. Adults taking advantage of the inexperience of youth is not ok. You're right if you or I did either of these things we would be in jail.
