Am Amazing Article in that it really does not say very much about anything. I have to guess the reason for the drop was to show that the French Foreign Legion HAS the capability to deploy troops fast and drop them anywhere. However, the article itself doe not give a reason that is very clear. One point that stood out for me was the use of the side door in the Airbus A400M. If it is like a C-130, jumping into a Prop is never a great idea.
