We already have mandatory retirement savings at the federal level. It's called Social Security, and look how that one has worked out. I agree with SSG (Join to see), educate but don't try to legislate.

Honestly Sir I do not believe the direction a persons money goes should be mandatory.

We can educate them as Leaders but it should still be their choice.

The over-arching point I'm getting at is there is a dearth of information available to service members for proper future savings. You say that you do not want something mandatory, and I hear that. I would tell you that I do not want to take care of anyone with welfare money later on when they didn't save enough.

Make it mandatory, use a graduated scale, work on a vesting piece after initial term of service if they stay in, and if not, the funds are theirs, just like any other IRA.

Join nearly 2 million former and current members of the US military, just like you.
