Did you ever dance around the Maypole? We did as kids in elementary school. Then those nasty Communists usurped the holiday to parade their military might and that was the end of that tradition.

Only once in 1952 - 2nd grade at the on-base elementary school in Norman, OK. Love at first sight for the Maypole Queen -- the next day our family transferred to Oahu. I can still picture her to this day - my first true love and I didn't even know her name.
