AI is currently about as smart as your toaster. Nothing - not even the Apple product lineup - is as over-hyped as AI.

To tag some stuff on that, it appears to me that the Google tech that I use actually works. The Amazon tech, not so much. IBM, meanwhile, makes claims in some of their publicity that I find to be a bit overreaching. So, Google has some silly political notions among some of its employees (largely related to "virtue-signalling" fashion-statement stuff more than anything, I think) but their stuff seems to be a bit more reliable than that from some of its competitors.
