"My sister, Marine Cpl. Thae Ohu, sits in a brig right now awaiting court-martial.
Her crime? Being a rape victim whose documented and unresolved mental illness hit its peak after years of intimidation, and retaliation in her unit led her to that point. She lost rank. Her reputation took heavy hits. She now stands to lose it all because the system we all talk about — where victims must either bury the pain or suffer re-victimization — is operating as expected. My God... I have been following this one...it just seems compared to other branches of government there are ways to handle this better....
1. If there was at will employment and civilian laws applied then imagine how this would turn out?
When you don’t have at will employment then you see people seemingly get trapped and held in circumstances they would usually be able to correct with at will employment and movement if your coworker or boss was abusive etc
But hey I know we are warriors.
But, if I was, without government sources informing me of these realities of human kind, and myself spreading something that sounds like a conspiracy, service members doing bad things to each other, such as abuse, sexual assault, toxic commands, victims right, patients rights, civil rights, human rights etc etc etc etc etc etc, then I would sound like a lunatic nut job.
But in reality, although I am not perfect and apologize when I am wrong, and hope for open debate, if I post something that is not perfectly worded or confusing, to get things understood, then I post and remark more.
None of us are god and none of us have the perfect remedy, us all being animals with brains.
But if eagles can make a nest and raise chicks and put time and effort into that as a couple, and seemingly share the load and keep each other company in this world, then why can not humans do it more often, as we are advanced animals with brains that are seemingly advanced?
So I digress, when you are young and enter bootcamp, there is a lot of testosterone and hormones and you feel like you are a little or even a big god, under a bigger god, and well lets just say, I can see where a lady is well you know going to get harmed if she is unaware of such things, and the guys she is gong to be around. Maybe she is also having her personal development and things are being tried, but once that consent thing is crossed, please honor that line and stop.
Regardless you can still be a man if you dont cross that line, and you are better man if you create that line, and hold you and her to it.
Consent.
It is taught as a Normal word now.
But if you go ahead and make someone your victim at your desire when you have a control of a certain situation, then you know that, and you act out of weak reality, and you will not have the ability to hide forever.
The universe is a collective and we recognize what it is to be a victim and who is the person who takes advantage.
When someone is a victim at a early age, they may start to lash out as well, and the cycle will go on and on.
But I hope we see that and show some humanity into this.
We are supposed to be on the same team

OK this can get touchy so kworking on ideas here, and hope for open discussion
