The Marines have had a lot of bad public relations in Japan. An American Navy 4 star admiral was reduced in rank to rear Admiral with two stars. From his comment that basically said for the price of a rental car they could have got a prostitute instead of raping a 12 year old girl. He was thrown out of the Navy for saying that.
