1. These guys just need to read "Starship Troopers" That is the future Marine Corps.
2. In 30-60 years humanity will likely be fighting its last war. Either we're going to lose it big, or we're going to win it big, and either way the definition of humanity won't likely be the same.

Starship Troopers was at one time on the Marine Corps required reading list.
The Forever War is another Science Fiction book that should be on required military reading list.

The USMC will likely face the usual terror threats, but it is well within reason to expect genetically enhanced or taylor breed human, augmented humans, or straight up robots. maybe not Khan, Borg, or Cylon but some lesser version of those.
