Marines, Sailors Could Be Kicked Out For Abusive Social Media Activity

While I have no issue with separating someone for the acts that have tripped this debate off, they fall under several UCMJ Violations along with civil violations.

The issue I have with trying to create broader rules or regulations is you will end up infringing on a persons civil liberties. My Personal Facebook profile doesn't have any links to my Military life. I make sure I do not reference what I do or ever give any hint that what I say or how I am is the same or part of the Military. This is because I am highly political on many a subject. I make no bones about that and will defend and stand by what I say.

While I still follow the rules, what if I had a CO that was say at the opposite end of the spectrum in political beliefs, could they use these new regs to wage a person PC war? What about the rest of the chain of command up and down. How long till the knee jerk reaction become so outlandish we are kicking people out for saying they like this person or that person? What about things they did before they joined?

I don't think we need new or different rules I think we just need to reintroduce Morality and hammer Honor Courage Commitment home. After that the UCMJ does a good job of dealing with those that are undesirable for service.

well if they willingly Pushed the issues...and the Photos... but we will have to see what the legal Beagles do...
