This is purely defensive. Marines are not designed to be on the defensive. Someone can also walk through the door and start shooting. Why can't we simply trust Marine NCO's with side arms and save the money on the bullet proof glass?

Cpl Jeff N., That would make more sense, but... If I was a recruiter I would want one those locks on the door, where you have to be buzzed in. But still, they have no firearms, so they are dead anyway. I agree they should be armed, but with more than a pistol. This is a near war and those crazy jihadists will kill an American anyway they can.
