Well the General of the losing side in the Confederate war said to sheath the flag and never fly it again because it was divisive back then. What was wrong with his General Order? Why do we need another General to repeat it over 150 years later?

While I am all for celebrating ones heritage, a confederate flag has no place in/on military installations. I am never going agree with some folks and their reasons for having visceral reactions to the stars and bars but I don't have a dog in the fight. I had to deal with something simian when one of my guys had an SS coal bucket helmet in his barrack room. It was his dads war souvenir but the COC lost their minds over it (He was Jewish). in the end he sent it home to avoid weekly meltdowns. I was station in NC so I did see many confederate flags down there but I just ignored them. My family came over after the Civil War. In this case I agree with the Jarhead General.
