I know lets change almost 250 years of washed in blood tradition because somebody's feelings are hurt about a word..... Besides isn't the term Marine, Soldier, Salior Gender neutral, so that just makes the Air Force gender inequal.....I am just saying.

I always thought terms that end in man were gender neutral. Woman and man both end in man.

I remember when regulations and FM said that the use of Man was inclusive of male and female. Never seemed like something to worry about. We had some good women in the USMC who worried about USMC and not their feelings.

Read that they would substitute with “Marine” and that would solve the prob.

SSgt Boyd Herrst some how rifle Marine doesn't have the same ring to it but I think it would work for most others Ordnance Marine, Artilary Marine, Assault Marine yes that would work.

I can understand that but they get to quantify satisfying those p.c. Pantywaists that want the change. I’d rather leave it the hell alone and tell then go shove a howitzer up their exhaust pipes, Cpl. Frank W.

I have no idea what he is thinking. I always thought terms like Rifleman, Chairman, and others were gender neutral because both man and woman end in man.
