I remember watching this on the sports news...bench clearing isn't all that unusual but normally the coaches have enough sense to stay out of it.

Remember it well. The sports writers were quick to jump on Pedro. Don Zimmerman has always been a good guy and proved it by taken up the blame for his injury. I was impressed that he even went out after Pedro! He was usually one of the ones that held his players back. As you can see, I'm a Boston fan for life!
