Here are my questions to McConnell based on this statement of his:

“It was a mistake, in my view, for Fox News to depict this in a way that is completely at variance with what our chief law enforcement official here at the Capitol thinks.”

What part? All of it? What does the chief law enforcement official at the Capitol have to do with the characterization of Sen Hawley's rush out of the Chamber? Tucker asked questions about the crazy dude in the horned helmet. What did he do? Was there something not caught on camera?

I am a reasonable, critical thinking person who respects law enforcement and their authority. I have denounced the actions of those who rioted on 6 Jan, and I would like to see those responsible punished. But there are added elements to this event in which the Democrats are obviously trying to capitalize on. Characterizing the event as an insurrection or as the worst event since the Civil War is clearly an exaggeration and its clearly being done to demonize the right (all of them) and prevent Trump from running again. In their minds, the way I see it, if this prevents Trump from running, or better yet delivers him another defeat, they will have no regrets lying and exaggerating and they will continue to ramp up the effort.

So, if McConnell has an issue with what Tucker has aired, I need him to be more specific than what the "chief law enforcement official here at the Capitol thinks.” It's time to shed light on all the information, and allow the American people to decide, without the politicized word of our congressional leaders (on both sides).

They can dish it out, but impossible to get it flung back at them.
