McDonald’s just bought a voice-recognition company for high-tech drive-throughs

What's your baseline? Humans screw them up bad enough now!

SSG Donald H "Don" Bates Kind of snicker at that. Last week I went to DMV to renew my registration; had been there before so knew they had a kiosk to get a ticket. At the entrance there was a queuing line leading to the main desk and there was a line with about 15 people. I went straight to the kiosk that wass off to the right of the queuing area, got a ticket and sat down. I got called well before the person who would have been in front of me if I went into the line.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - I did not try it as it was kind of off to the side and I had placed my order. Our DMV and Tax Assessor have a kiosk- you punch what you are there for and get a ticket, then watch a monitor for your ticket number to come up and to which person you go to.

SSG Donald H "Don" Bates Same with our DMV, it just amazed me that people would stand in line with a kiosk right there. Habit I guess.
