Let's just ignore, for the moment, the issue of having the UN send armed forces to an American city. Why would anyone expect that the populace of Chicago would respond to policing by UN "peacekeepers" any better than they respond to policing by their own civilian police force? Secondly, would UN "peacekeepers" respect Constitutional limits on the use of force in policing including, but not limited to, lawful searches and seizures, rights to representation and trial by jury, rules of evidence, etc.?

Being a 'peacekeeper' in Chicago would be a hazardous assignment to say the least. It's probably safer for peacekeepers in darkest Africa than Chicago's South Side..

It would take some serious propaganda for the average American gun toting conservative to allow the U.N. to occupy any part of American soil without facing down the wrong end of their weapon, even the south side of Chicago. The only question I have is would the residents of that area view the incoming fighters as friends, or as secondary foes?
