“There were also problems with overheating and the gas system filling quickly with carbon, the latter issue leading to jamming unless operators thoroughly cleaned the weapon regularly.”
Give me an M-60 any day over the SAW.
I taught the SAW. Perhpas, the light weight and the 5.56 ammo is the reason those that do not use it continue to push it. I suppose, due to the 5.56 round, one can use the ammo of the dead if they are using M16's with 5.56. Otherwise, it jams all the ******g time.
Perhaps, the new M249 and MK48 are much better. I would have to be there on the berm to see. Otherwise, give me a 60 and the 7.62 all day long. I mean, all day long!
Kill.
