I seriously hope no one thinks a human - even this human - can outswim a shark? It's good entertainment, but no contest. Phelps swims 6mph at his best. Great whites can do 25mph, and makos can swim up to 60mph.

SN Greg Wright I don't even think it was close I think they said that even Olympic swimmers are only doing something like 4 or five so even if he swims double that, he is still shark bait.

I'm pulling for the shark. Even if Phelps is wearing a shark suit it would be fun to watch him get tossed around like a rag doll

LTC (Join to see) When it comes to the great white, it is not just the sharp teeth, it is also the bite pressure that needs to be accounted for in a protective suit. There have been experiments with a type of plate armor worn over the wetsuit that would distribute the bite force making it so that the teeth and the bite pressure do not cause harm to the diver. I don't know who they would get to give it a practical test.
"Ok so we are going to going to take these plastic cells, and strap them to you. You wait for the shark to bite you, and tell us if you feel the pressure."
I don't see a long line of people saying Pick me please.

SFC (Join to see) If he gets eaten on live tv that would be anti climactic. If he turns into Jesus Christ and starts running across the surface of the water to get away from Bruce that would make it worth tuning in for.
