SGT (Join to see) Microsoft will take years to graft Linkedin and Great Plains CRM together. Linkedin does have a contact data collection advantage but many companies use Duns and Bradstreet data for purposes of Business to Business marketing.
Salesforce is a great platform that is easy to use and has the majority market share but charges a premium for the service and is being challenged by Oracle, MS and SAP on the high end and Workday and GoldMine in the low end.
Salesforce has VisualForce.com, Force.com, Apex (java like language), Lightning for mobile deployments, all these tools make for ease of customization.
I look forward to seeing the advanced features and see if Sales Navigator makes MS a better competitor.

It strains the bounds of credulity for SFDC to claim another company has monopoly power in the CRM space. Microsoft is very well diversified but there are not too many markets, if any, they could be shown to have monopoly power.
