The President calls it an invasion and says we will shoot, the left are harping on the "Use of Force" authorization; in fact - most of our troops on the border are no where near the migrants, and, the only armed Soldiers are MPs to guard our own camps. This Military.com article gives some facts about what US Troops are actually doing on our border - cutting through the hype on both left and right!

Migrants? Maybe some. But, they all look like illegal aliens trying to get on the government sugar nipple.
What diseases are among them? Both acute and chronic? Any anchor babies in there?
Call it a biological attack on America and allow the Department of Defense do what they swore to do. Defend America.

Your alarmist rhetoric is not useful, or accurate. Certainly there is a threat and some/all of the conditions you list may be present -- but nothing that hasn't happened many times before and nothing that the border patrol can't effectively deal with. The added military presence in a support role will certainly help DHS sort this out. Any reason though why legitimate asylum-seekers that are fleeing oppressive gang-violence back home or other threats, can't be interviewed and processed as they always have been??

Never been a huge fan of military.com. Part of the reason is this article. Clearly there is a pro "migrant" stance by the author as he contrasts armed MP's to people walking back to Mexico with shopping bags. The author also focuses on people who are simply looking for jobs and states that most of those in the caravan are families. Contrast this to the riot over the weekend where military aged males ensured the few women and children in the group were pushed to the front to control the media narrative as the MAMs proceeded to throw rocks and bottles at the border patrol and customs officers.
Sorry, have to call BS on the article. Not for how they describe what the troops are doing at the border but for the authors comments on the illegal criminal aliens attempting to criminally enter the United States and leach onto our welfare system.
