There is no way any college athlete is a slave. They voluntarily accept playing their sport and the conditions of their scholarship. They can walk away at any time without punishment. They are free to pursue any other field or career without fear of retribution. I enjoy college sports but let's face it, most athletes have it better than the vast majority of college students who are trying to figure out how to pay for college so they can better themselves. I am sick of hearing about the inequalities these student athletes deal with.

SGT (Join to see) - Yes and nothing she said changes my opinion. The vast majority of students struggle much more than an athlete on a scholarship. No one forces them to play sports. If they choose to do so, they should accept the rules of the NCAA to play that sport. If they don't like it, they can work towards an education like everyone else - with academic scholarships, grants, and student loans. I have no sympathy at all.

Then don't play a sport and get your college paid for, opportunities for professional sports, athlete perks, ect. I have never heard of this type of volunteer slavery. The definition of slavery implies a lack of volition. hocus pocus
